RÉSUMÉ: In this talk I will first present frameworks for modeling the effective flow of goods through the supply chain and the reverse flow of information from point of consumption to point of origin. I will next focus on coordinating aspects in the supply chain and discuss methodologies introduced for system design. I will then describe how companies have benefited from the use of operations research models and e- business applications to tighten the interface among various activities in their supply chains. Finally, I will identify future challenges.
